With generous support from the Fred H. Bixby Foundation, the Population Reference Bureau is pleased to present the First Annual Visiting Scholar Symposium and Reception. PRB’s Bixby Visiting Scholars will discuss important gaps in our current knowledge and understanding of the processes and consequences of immigration and assimilation. They will address such facets as families, communities, and educational achievement of second-generation immigrants; issues in the measurement of immigration; and the effects of immigration research on immigration policy. Comparative patterns from Canada, Sweden, and Europe will also be considered.
