Webinar: Data Opportunities and Challenges in a Post-Roe World

What are the barriers to conducting abortion-related research today?

On Thursday, June 4, PRB and the Association for Public Data Users (APDU) hosted a panel discussion in which experts from across the United States discussed questions including: What are the barriers to conducting abortion-related research today? What have we learned from the data so far? Where are the data gaps and how can we fill them?

Two years ago, the Dobbs decision by the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and ended the constitutional right to abortion. Researchers on abortion, fertility, and reproductive health shared their findings about the implications of this decision, including its impacts on access to care, birth rates, and health outcomes.

Panelists:

  • Abigail R.A. Aiken, Associate Professor of Public Affairs, University of Texas at Austin
  • Alison Gemmill, Assistant Professor, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health
  • Laura Lindberg, Professor, Rutgers School of Public Health
  • Jane Seymour, Research Scientist, University of Wisconsin – Madison Collaborative for Reproductive Equity (UW CORE)
