Generations on the Rise in Pakistan
“Generations on the Rise in Pakistan” is an ENGAGE multimedia presentation that examines the important link between high fertility and the health of women and children, highlighting improvements in family planning use over time as well as the gaps in implementation. Focusing on the high level of unmet need for family planning, it presents the many costs and consequences of high fertility and unplanned pregnancies. The presentation underscores how increased family planning use can lead to improvements in the health and well-being of Pakistani families.
“Generations on the Rise in Pakistan” was developed by PRB in collaboration with the National Committee for Maternal and Neonatal Health (NCMNH) and a local task force comprised of experts in family planning and reproductive health. This presentation is available on request, and a presentation guide is also available to provide facilitators with the skills to effectively deliver the presentation.
With funding from the U.S. Agency for International Development, IDEA—Informing Decisionmakers to Act—increases support among policy audiences for effective health and population programs around the world. By increasing the flow of accurate, understandable information about population, family planning, and reproductive health to policy audiences, IDEA enhances efforts carried out by civil society, the public sector, the development community, and donors. Under IDEA, PRB has developed a series of dynamic multimedia ENGAGE presentations to engage global leaders and country-level policymakers in issues related to family planning, reproductive health, and other key development issues.
