Dennis Mwambi was a senior team leader with PRB’s Kenya office. He joined PRB in November 2019. His role includes supporting health systems strengthening and health budget advocacy initiatives to increase political and financial commitments for health. An ardent public health specialist, he has a bachelor’s degree in public health from Moi University, a master’s degree in public health in monitoring and evaluation from Kenyatta University, and certificates in public policy (Strathmore University), nutrition (Amref International University), project management (Ministry of Labour and Human Resource Development), and disaster management (Centre for Disaster Response). Mwambi is a certified trainer of trainees in a variety of monitoring and evaluation methodologies focusing on maternal and child health programs. He is also a master trainer on communications for development (C4D). He has more than 15 years’ experience working in Kenya and Africa (including Ethiopia, Rwanda, South Africa, Uganda, and Zambia), where he has successfully resource mobilized, designed, implemented, and evaluated maternal and child health programs. His publications include two research papers in peer-reviewed journals.
