Matthew Martinez was a research associate in U.S. Programs. He joined PRB in 2020 and focused on data science and visualization. He analyzes survey and administrative data, creates thematic and interactive maps, and builds visualizations for a range of projects. Martinez is proficient in several statistical programming languages, including R, Python, and SAS, and with multiple Geographic Information System platforms, including ArcGIS and QGIS. Prior to joining PRB, Martinez was a researcher at an applied research firm serving U.S. federal government clients, where he was involved in all aspects of large-scale survey research. He holds a graduate certificate in social science research methods and an master’s and doctoral degrees in anthropology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
